Hello, and welcome to my website!

My name is Wendy Potocki and I'm the author of The White Lady Murders. I'm also a fan of scary stories. In fact, I'm a lifelong fan of being scared senseless. Whether it be classics or new favorites, I love the pleasure a good thriller gives. I am not happy until some skilled author fires my imagination to the point that I actually feel a unknown presence lurking under the couch, waiting to rush out and make an introduction! My writing is my way of saying thank you ... and maybe a little payback for all those sleepless nights! Here's a brief synopsis:

"In a Malibu beach house, David Lynx struggles with his latest tour de force ? a book on magic. It?s a subject he knows nothing about. In a desperate attempt to understand, he decides to perform an ancient ritual not realizing that he will unwittingly open a door for a forty-year-old unsolved murder spree to start all over again."

In The White Lady Murders, I played with the notion of what it good and what is evil and ask whether there is something beyond them both ? something that just IS. My characters explore the boundaries of what constitutes moral and immoral behavior and, further, how we judge what being immoral truly is. It just may be the "bad" guy wearing the black hat that comes through for us in the end. He may be the true redeemer and not the hypocrite we hold in high-esteem.

The novel is based on the legend of Lilith. She is the succubus that tempts young men in their sleep. She preys upon them when they are at their most vulnerable and uses their nighttime emissions to produce unholy offspring that give woe to the world. And I would like to assure those fans desiring a solid mystery, that The White Lady Murders will not disappoint you. Although the story is immersed in the supernatural, at its core it is an action-packed detective story replete with a hard-boiled, hard-nosed police officer named Robert Moran leading the charge. Moran is a veteran police officer who vividly remembers the original murders that occurred during The Summer of Blood. The string of vicious crimes terrorized the city and held its residents captive in the killer's steely grip. No one felt safe and now Moran desperately races to solve the mystery of who or what is behind the new wave of brutal killings to prevent The White Lady Murders from beginning again.

If you do read the story and you find yourself  wanting more - never fear! I?ve just completed another novel that I am dying to tell you all about. I can?t give you the details just yet. All I will say is that it is a tale of horror wrapped in the mother of all conspiracy theories! It?ll have you on the edge of your seat and questioning what is really going on and who is pulling the strings!

So please kick off your shoes and relax awhile!

"... The White Lady Murders is a true page-turner, challenging the reader to
journey into a world of deceit and murder,
all played out against the backdrop
of one sinister and frightening figure
. Throughout my reading of this book,
I was spellbound by the rich narrative and provocative tale
which builds to an explosive crescendo. I would recommend this book
to anyone who likes their books on the wild side! The White Lady Murders is
not for the faint of heart. But for those readers who enjoy a good yarn
about unbridled passion and temptation gone wrong, I'd recommend this book
with the best of them.
I am definitely looking forward
to reading the next novel by this wonderful author
."

"The White Lady Murders...as I look at the innocent white covers with those
pretty lady's eyes, I'd have never have thought it would be
one of the most intense reads I've experienced.

To say it is a murder mystery, or book on the occult, or a book
about the Hollywood life, or jealousy, I'd not do this book justice
-
it has to be read to be experienced.

by "ellen in Atlanta"

"...There are many books about occult practices. Likewise many novels
have explicit sexual components.
Wendy Potocki does a great job
in this novel of blending the occult, sex, AND murder mystery
into a unique brew."

by Yale R. Jaffe, Author of Advantage Disadvantage

"I read this book while it was available on Kindle.
I loved it!!
The story grabs you
and keeps you guessing until
the very end, and,
even the ending is a surprise.
For anyone who enjoys being on the edge of their seat,
and kept guessing this is definitely one to read.
I look forward to more from this Author :)

"Wendy Potocki's 'The White Lady Murders' is one of those rare reads
in which
I did not anticipate the ending. The writing style is very descriptive,
and detailed - it is clear that
the author wants her readers to
see, feel, hear, taste and smell exactly what is going on.

If this book is ever picked up for a movie, I can already picture
the trailer with
the evil demon, Lilith, hovering in the air.

by J.R. Reardon, Author of Confidential Communications

"... Where the 'Twilight Zone' had boundaries, (that of imagination, as you might recall),
'White Lady' truly has none. I was unprepared for the raw emotional power,
the brutal sexuality, and the flesh-from-bone ripping mind trip
I was about to be taken on. Picking up the book became a guilty but joyful pleasure
of going to some secret forbidden place, finding out exactly why it was forbidden,
and then later, realizing I had to go back. Cynics be damned...
I thoroughly enjoyed this book!

If your criteria for a good read includes being blindsided by the unexpected,
wholly distracted from the day-to-day,
or smothered in the frightening powers of the esoteric,
then '
White Lady' will not disappoint."

"Not every book you read will have memorable characters and plot lines
that will stay with you very much after the last paragraph,
but "The White Lady Murders" is definitely
a book that will stick with you for a long time!

The characters are really interesting and well developed
and the whole thing whizzes by in less than a week,
you just can't put it down!
It's a mystery until the absolute end,
even when you think you've figured it out, just wait, you're wrong!"

by RedAppleYoga.com on amazon.com

"When best selling author, David Lynx, tries to meet deadline for his publisher,
he doesn't realize that by doing research about cults and practicing rituals
would bring hell on earth. David's summoning of demons resurrects
maelstroms of evil, murder, and terror from a bloody summer's past.
What happens next is... The White Lady Murders.

Wendy Potocki's narration is constructed upon elements of tension and suspense
that manipulates the reader to a realm of psychic energy. This reader
became fixated and transcribed to the semantic plane of the text
allowing me to hear the voice of the story. The sum of the story was a
mixture of the beautiful, sublime, and the mystic and to some extent
left the impression of psychic scarring, haunting.
I highly recommend The White Lady Murders."

"It's great to find an original voice in a vast sea laden with unoriginal writers.
I typically read fiction with a high degree of technological wonderment
strewn about, but I am glad I picked up a copy of
The White Lady Murders by Wendy Potocki. ...
...The character development was well designed
and the twists and turns kept me engaged as a reader.
I highly recommend picking up a copy!"
